Over five years absence and still the bands' sound is best considered avant-garde; it shines an embarrassing light on the majority of artists coming out of the hip hop tradition - just like Hank Shocklee and Co did back in the day...
APCs current success is partly due to the fact that there's so much genuine love for them as individuals and as a group. But it's also because they're an answer to a prayer - come to rescue hip hop from the depths of half-wittery, fame-lust and our collective fear of a wack planet.
Our friendly neighbourhood sonic-heroes, no doubt think nothing of it; it's just a circumstantial by-product of being Anti Pop. All in a days work, sir. No doubt, no doubt.
