The Frieze Art Fair is an ideal opportunity to see some of the worlds most compelling contemporary art - under one roof.

As a trade fair the sale prices are always going to grab big headlines, but it’s the processes and ideas behind the work that are often more interesting and relevant.
Media-talk centred around what’s selling and how much for is in some ways a reliable smokescreen used to avoid addressing the real issues surrounding the work.
By focusing on the monetary aspect of the art industry, the mainstream is effectively exercising a weird kind of cultural censorship - underestimating our intelligence and short-changing the artists at the same time.
Maybe that’s why it’s best to go see the work for yourself and wipe out the money-minded middlemen altogether.
