Never Knowingly Underdressed - Jean Cocteau: Style is a simple way of saying complicated things.

Bleecker and Bradford - Slim-fit Ralph Lauren for Japan

Wednesday, 3 February 2010 Comments Off

With Polo, Purple, Black, RRL, RLX, Rugby, RL Golf and beyond, Ralph Lauren is known as one of the few brands to successfully have a stake in almost every major menswear category.

But that doesn't prevent them from investing in new ones from time to time.

Bradford and Bleecker are menswear lines by Ralph Lauren.

Moderately priced, Italian-made suits with tasty touches like low rise waisting and considered lining.

What distinguishes these Bleecker and Bradford suits from their other collections is that they're exclusive to Japan.

Recognising potential growth in Asia and respecting the slimmer shape of the Japanese male - and conversely the broadening shape of the Western male - it seems the brand have decided to not merely create a slim-fit option for the Japanese market, but to design a whole line for it.

Combining the mythology of Manhattan City Slicker with the quality tailoring of the Italian artisan, Bleecker and Bradford are perhaps examples of Ralph Lauren at their think global, act local best.
